On the heels of several successful performances alongside Vybz Kartel in New York, the Bahamas, and Barbados, reigning dancehall queen Spice on Wednesday afternoon revealed that her latest release, a song titled Eleven, will be featured on her forthcoming album Cyphers of the A Album, which will be independently produced by her. Taking to Instagram to share the news with her fans, the Grammy-nominated artist posted a video clip of herself, captioned: “My new song #Eleven will be on ‘Cyphers of the A Album’ 💿 My independently produced album coming soon 🔜.” While no tracklist, features or release date have been confirmed, the buzz around this new project is already palpable.
Eleven, a scathing lyrical response to her Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta castmate Bambi, has broken new ground in the global music scene. Within 24 hours of its April 5 release, the diss track dethroned Bob Marley and the Wailers’ Three Little Birds from the top spot on the iTunes Top 100 Reggae Singles Chart. It also peaked at No. 30 on the All Genres iTunes Chart in the US, UK, and Canada — a historic feat that makes it the first dancehall diss track to ever chart that high across such major markets.
Spice’s accomplishments don’t stop there. Her debut studio album 10—released in 2021—has sold over 140,000 units in the U.S. alone, including 21,000 pure album sales, and has amassed over 371 million global streams on Spotify. That makes it the highest-selling and most-streamed dancehall album of the past five years. Add to that her 2024 Caribbean Music Awards win and her Silver certification for So Mi Like It in the UK, and it’s clear the artist is not just maintaining relevance—she’s helping to rewrite the rulebook for dancehall success on a global scale.
With Cyphers of the A Album marking her first fully independent production, Spice is once again asserting her autonomy and vision in an industry that often sidelines women, particularly in dancehall. Her recent performances alongside Vybz Kartel, who remains a legendary figure in the genre, further underscore her star power and strategic alignment. As she gears up for yet another groundbreaking chapter, Spice isn’t just defending her crown—she’s proving why she’s earned it.
