Dancehall artiste Blak Ryno is starting 2025 with clarity and purpose, silencing rumours and sidestepping drama with the release of Faith, his first official music video for the year. Dropped over the weekend, the track has sparked speculation among fans that it might be aimed at former Portmore Empire comrade Deva Bratt. But Ryno isn’t entertaining the noise. “I have no time for feuds. The song is not aimed at anyone—it represents Ryno, Gaza, and Unruly,” he told Prism Marketing Consultants, firmly rejecting the diss track narrative and instead doubling down on unity.
Faith is more than just a single—it’s a declaration of Blak Ryno’s current mindset, one steeped in maturity, vision, and a renewed love for the music. The track is expected to feature on his forthcoming EP Focus, a six- to seven-track set now slated for a late spring release. “I’m working on several new singles and want to ensure this project reflects my growth as an artiste,” he previously shared. The title track’s video is also in the works, and fans can expect another visual before the full EP drops. With a blend of raw dancehall energy and introspective storytelling, Focus promises to showcase Ryno’s evolution since his early Gaza days.
Ryno’s reemergence comes at a time when dancehall is experiencing a significant resurgence in global interest. According to Spotify’s 2024 Wrapped data, reggae and dancehall saw a 22% increase in streams, highlighting the genre’s expanding reach. Ryno’s return to form is bolstered by renewed connections with former Gaza affiliates Vybz Kartel and Popcaan, a move that many interpret as a broader sign of reconciliation within the dancehall fraternity. “We talk bout a lot of things, cause memba a long time di whole a we nuh reason like that,” Ryno recalled of their recent video call, which was orchestrated by Lisa Hyper.
In addition to solo projects, Ryno is also exploring new creative territory with an R&B-tinged collaboration alongside his fiancée and fellow artiste, Zirah. As the momentum builds, it’s clear that Blak Ryno isn’t looking backward—he’s focused on faith, growth, and the future of his artistry.
