As the world faces mounting environmental and social challenges, reggae sensation Keznamdi and soulful songstress Sevana are set to use their voices for change. The two artists, alongside legendary reggae icon Luciano, will headline 60 Earth Hour, a free acoustic concert at Hope Gardens, St. Andrew, on March 22. Organized by Earth Hour Jamaica, the event aligns with World Water Day and aims to spark greater awareness about climate action and sustainability.
Keznamdi, known for seamlessly blending reggae’s roots with modern influences, has been making waves on the global stage. His recent hit Pressure dominated Digital Radio Tracker (DRT) charts, clinching the No. 1 spot on the Global Top 150 Independent Airplay Chart Meanwhile, Sevana continues to carve her own path in reggae with her mesmerizing vocals and introspective songwriting, positioning herself as one of the genre’s most exciting voices.
Reggae veteran Luciano, a mainstay in socially conscious music, will bring his signature uplifting energy to the stage. With a career spanning decades, hits like Sweep Over My Soul and Give Praise have cemented his reputation as a spiritual and cultural beacon in reggae. For Luciano, Keznamdi, and Sevana, music isn’t just entertainment—it’s a tool for advocacy and transformation. “Reggae has always been the voice of the people, and we need to use it to protect our planet,” Luciano shared in a recent interview.
Jamaica, which recorded over 1,300 homicides in 2024, faces not just environmental concerns but social and economic struggles. In the midst of these challenges, artists like Keznamdi are providing a sense of resilience. His upcoming album Blood and Fyah, set for release in Late Spring, reflects his commitment to music with a message.
With Earth Hour 2025’s theme, “Create the Biggest Hour for Earth,” this year’s event is more than a concert—it’s a call to action. As the lights go out for one symbolic hour between 8:30 PM and 9:30 PM, Jamaica will join millions worldwide in a powerful statement against climate change.
