Dancehall artiste 450 is set to make a major international move with a three-city tour in the United Kingdom this May. The rising star, known for hits like Cold Streets and Journey, will kick off his UK stint at the O2 Academy in Bristol on May 6, followed by the O2 Institute in Birmingham, before culminating at the Roundhouse in London on May 11. Adding to the excitement, 450 has officially announced his highly anticipated debut album, Pieces of Me, set for release on April 25, 2025. The date, cleverly stylized as 4.25.25, serves as a play on his name—April being the fourth month, and the two 25s summing up to 50.
While details on the album’s tracklist and collaborations remain under wraps, 450 and his team have already begun teasing fans with a cinematic trailer. “This album is gonna be amazing!! Watch this movie 😎😎 #PIECESOFME 4.25.25,” the artiste shared on Instagram, hinting at an introspective and hard-hitting project. His steady rise in the industry is evident, with a growing fanbase both locally and internationally, affirming him as a standout among the new wave of dancehall acts.
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Tanya Stephens has also thrown her support behind 450, praising his ability to tap into deep emotions through his music. “450, Masicka, Shane O (not new but current), a some amazing writers weh dip inna emotions weh most older heads never even know how fi articulate! Listen to the youths. Dem have a lot fi teach!” she shared in 2023 with her Instagram followers. Her endorsement adds weight to the argument that today’s dancehall generation, despite facing criticism from some veterans, continues to push lyrical boundaries and evolve the genre.
450’s rapid ascent reflects dancehall’s enduring global influence, with the genre accounting for a significant share of Jamaica’s entertainment exports. According to the Statistical Institute of Jamaica, the country’s music industry contributes over JMD $20 billion annually to the economy, fueled by international tours and digital streaming. With his UK tour on the horizon and Pieces of Me set to drop, 450 is poised to make 2025 a fantastic year, solidifying his place in dancehall’s evolving landscape.
