Singer Etana is gearing up to captivate audiences across the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe with her forthcoming tour, set to commence this fall. The tour will celebrate her latest album, Nectar of the Gods, which continues to make inroads with its soulful, empowering tracks that speak directly to issues of adversity and resilience.
Etana’s tour kicks off on September 20 with a series of U.S. performances, including stops in North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, and New Jersey. She will then take her talent across the Atlantic, starting her U.K. stint in October at Band on the Wall in Manchester. Spanning six shows from October 4 to 19th, Etana’s U.K. exploits will also see her performing in iconic venues such as The Jazz Cafe in London and Soul Mama in East London. Etana will then bring her tour to mainland Europe, with performances in Amstelveen, Netherlands, and Prague, Czech Republic, in November.
Speaking about her upcoming tour, Etana shared her excitement on social media, stating, “It’s always a blessing to connect with my fans around the world. Music is a universal language, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my message of hope, love, and resilience.” This tour will not only showcase Etana’s latest album but will also highlight her unique ability to blend reggae’s rich traditions with contemporary themes, making her one of the genre’s most compelling voices.
Etana’s latest album, Nectar of the Gods, released on July 26, 2024, under her own Freemind Music label, has been lauded for its powerful and poignant lyrics. The album’s lead single, “Don’t Give Up,” is a stirring anthem dedicated to young women dealing with adversity and abuse. The album also includes collaborations with reggae luminaries like Big Youth, Shatta Wale, and Bugle, further cementing Etana’s status as a significant force in the music industry.
In addition to Nectar of the Gods, Etana recently recorded a live album titled Etana Live in Nairobi, captured at the Pamoja Festival in Kenya in June 2024. The live album features 23 tracks over two hours of performance, showcasing her dynamic stage presence and deep connection with her audience.
With a career that began in 2008 with her debut album The Strong One, Etana has consistently used her platform to speak on issues that matter, from social justice to personal empowerment. Her decision to go independent after releasing multiple albums with VP Records has allowed her greater creative freedom, resulting in critically acclaimed projects and two Grammy nominations for Best Reggae Album.
