Irish and Chin, a renowned promotions company, is all set to host a celebration of life for Brianna McKoy, the daughter of sound system veteran Ricky Trooper. The event is scheduled for this Saturday, May 13, at Sound Chat Media studio and office in Queens, New York. Irish and Chin has extended an invitation to all members of the sound system fraternity, urging them to come together and offer personal support to Garfield’ Ricky Trooper’ McKoy, who recently lost his beloved daughter.
“We need to be there for each other in difficult times and keep the sound system industry united,” said Garfield ‘Chin’ Bourne of Irish and Chin. He added that while sound clash is entertaining, it is important to differentiate it from real life. Our rivalries are solely for entertainment, but our real lives should be filled with respect and admiration for each other’s contributions.
Ricky Trooper is a legendary figure in the sound system industry, and it was his participation that helped Irish and Chin make a mark very early on in their careers. Before winning World Clash in 1998, Trooper starred in many of Irish and Chin’s earlier events, and the company is forever grateful for his contributions.
On April 6, Brianna McKoy passed away tragically in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Her father, Ricky Trooper, was granted a visa to travel to the United States on humanitarian and compassionate grounds to bury her. Brianna’s funeral occurred on May 5, and Gilbert ‘Irish’ Murchison from Irish and Chin was crucial in enabling Trooper to obtain his visa.
