After a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Popcaan’s annual back-to-school treat is officially returning.
Rudolph Elder Park in Morant Bay, St. Thomas, will host the annual Back-to-School Treat and Fun Day on August 25. Hundreds of children in the parish will be helped by the artiste’s charity, the Popcaan Care Foundation. Beginning at 10 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m., this all-day event will provide free back-to-school supplies, including backpacks, books, and stationery, to children and their families.
No stranger to philanthropic works, Popcaan has organised several charitable events in the parish to raise funds to assist the people of St. Thomas, the children’s charity being just one of them. Annually in December, the parish hosts the artist’s Unruly Fest, where thousands of visitors enjoy various activities that provide employment and income for residents.
In the meantime, a representative for Popcaan Care shared that the artist is thrilled that the event will be returning, adding that parents are also looking forward to the event.
